If you want a scent of Mediterranean to spread to every corner of your house, make a rosemary bread.
It tastes and smells wonderfully. Also one of my favorite!
Enjoy!
Ingredients:
Instructions:
Dissolve the yeast in ½ cup warm water. Add 1 teaspoon flour and sugar and allow to stand for 10 minutes.
Put strong white wheat flour and soft wheat flour in a large bowl and
mix with salt and the yeast mixture. Add as much warm water as necessary to
make a stiff dough.
Knead for at least 10 minutes, and allow to stand for one hour (or until doubles in size).
Knead the dough again and leave for another hour to rise.
Meanwhile, mix rosemary, garlic and olive oil in a separate bowl (or in a mortar) and roughly crush.
Smear the dough with the crushed mixture prior to baking.
Preheat the oven to 180° C/350° F and bake for about one hour (or until golden).
